FortisBC DSM Advisory Committee

FortisBC is an integrated electric utility operating in the South Interior of BC. Implemented in 1989, the Power Sense Energy Initiative is FortisBC’s comprehensive demand side management program for its residential, general service, and industrial customers.

Willis Energy Services Ltd. has provided consulting services to the Power Sense program since 1998. Our services have included energy efficiency potential assessments, business plan preparations, program planning, market research and evaluation, and regulatory assistance. A stakeholder group was formed in 1997 to oversee the incentive mechanism for DSM, designed under the performance-based ratemaking that had been approved by the regulator. Since 1998 we have facilitated and provided expertise to guide the process work of the committee, which became the DSM Advisory Committee in 2006.
